Blogs such as this (and mine!) are crucial in putting messages out there and letting folk know the implications and consequences of the sharp and divisive nature of this ConDem government. I am amazed at how a large amount of people (well educated and 'professionals too') are completely ignorant about politics - or matters that fundamentally effect us. It should not just be down to politicians to help this, if we have a knowledge or interest we should try and influence, or tell our peers. Friends of mine who hadn't a clue about politics claimed to be anti Labour before the election simply because they believed the rightwing media and wanted a 'change' - but they had not looked into the facts, or the positions or whether the 'change' could be benefitial. It was not hard to talk them around!<br />One positive is that Labour as a political party appear to be using the social media in far more depth than their foes. As society continues to change we should grow on this positive. Articles and blogs such as this are part of that tonic!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7216265298625671683.post-25604637235297718302010-07-22T16:51:10.664+01:002010-07-22T16:51:10.664+01:00I really enjoyed the article, though I would say 1...I really enjoyed the article, though I would say 1983 was arguably worse since 1931 than this years disappointing result. I have heard many horror stories over the years about new members experiences with local parties, we really must ensure those stories become historiacal anecdotes! Many Party members are very involved in local community activity and I completely agree that we must use that engagement to more effectively link that activity to our party's campaigning narrative. Members can and should be a conduit between real life and policy formulation.Peter Lordhttp://www.twitter.com/andwhatthennoreply@blogger.com
